I'm not having much luck though. Posted using the Full Custom H. App Sucka!!! Joined: Jul 10, Posts: 22 Profile Page. I picked this up a year or so ago. The coil tester, vacuum gauge, ohm meter and leakdown tester work. The rest are DOA. The main transformer in the scope is melted down and I have had no luck finding a replacement. I also have a BST that I use at work now and then when I don't trust the shops midtronics battery tester, nothing beats a real carbon pile to check a battery.
Found a repop manual on Fbay. Last edited: Oct 15, The Magic Ratchet , Latigo and graveyardsledder like this. Joined: Mar 29, Posts: 42 Profile Page. I have an early 50's Distributor Tester model MD Have updated the electronics and added a power source instead of using a battery.
Just finished curving a Mallory dual point for my flathead. Worked like a champ. Joined: May 1, Posts: 7, Profile Page. Hitchhiker , Oct 15, HarryT , Oct 15, Flathead Johnny , Oct 15, The Magic Ratchet , naegle and Latigo like this. The Magic Ratchet likes this.

My came from the Delco test laboratory in Kokomo, Indiana. Deuce3wCpe, that is nearly in new condition I picked this little guy up last winter. I haven't had a chance to test it out yet. I found this on eBay a while back Last edited: Oct 16, Flathead Johnny , Oct 16, Flathead Johnny , Oct 21, Joined: Jul 12, Posts: 42 Profile Page. Here are a coulpe early machines I just picked up make me a offer.
Both need some work I'm guessing. Yes both are 6 volt. The one on the left is really early very cool rolodex. You must log in or sign up to reply here. Show Ignored Content. While not lethal, a shock may cause you to jerk involuntarily and hurt yourself. The jack supplied with the vehicle should be used only for changing wheels. Never crawl under car or run engine while vehicle is on a jack. This feature must be disabled when it is necessary for testing. The following is a list of publishers who have service manuals for your specific vehicle.
Write or call them for availability and prices, specifying the make, style, model year and VIN Vehicle Identification Number of your vehicle. It may also be used to measure voltages in the computer control circuits of computer-controlled vehicles. Zero adjustment — Unit automatically zeroes on the volts and Amps functions. Measurement rate — 2. Be sure that a fresh nine 9 volt battery is correctly installed in the multitester.
Compare the position of the selector switch with the anticipated test result. In the case of voltage or current measurement, always select a range which is high enough to handle the worst case result! Voltage or current may be higher than you expect. Incorrect placement of the RED test lead may damage the multitester, the circuit under test, or both!
The 10 Amp range on the multitester is not fused. Exercise extreme caution! If the multitester will not be used for an extended period of time, remove the internal nine 9 volt battery to avoid damage from leakage. Do not store the multitester in direct sunlight, or in areas of high temperature or high humidity. Connect the test leads to the circuit under test, observing proper polarity when measuring DC voltage.
Read the result on the digital display. Connect the test leads to the circuit under test, observing proper polarity. Read the results on the digital display. If the display reads over-range 1 , switch to a higher range within the DCA function. Connect the test leads to the circuit under test. If the display reads over-range 1 , switch to a higher range within the resistance function.
Connect the test leads to the diode under test. The diode must be removed from the circuit to achieve proper results. Reverse the test lead connections at the diode. A good diode will show a low reading with the test leads connected one way, and infinity 1 with the test leads connected the other way.
The low reading will typically be some three-digit number on the display. The actual number is not critical. Insert the leads into the proper holes of the hFE socket located on the front of the multitester. All milliampere mA ranges of this multitester are fuse protected.
Should the current exceed mA in any of these ranges, the fuse may open. To maintain safe operation of the multitester, replace it only with a mA, V, 5mm x 20mm fast-acting glass fuse. Replace the fuse as follows:. Remove the bottom case half.
Using a small blade screwdriver or other suitable tool, gently pry the open fuse out of its holder. Reinstall the battery, and bottom case half. The following replacement parts are available for your multitester.
