Skip to main content. Hi, I cannot find any information on using Norton Ghost 15 for Mutilcasting an image from a portable hard drive onto various computers or for unicasting an image from an external hard drive onto singular computers.
If one of the computers fails to re-image I sply rstart that compter and reimage it using Unicast. Ghost 15 is a consumer version and doesn't support multi-casting or even really uni-casting. It can "pull" an image from a network but it can't "push" or "broadcast" it and can only do it one at a time.

In your case network should not be a problem since you can map a drive. I'm not sure of the default behavior of Vista PE, but I think there is a command 'wpeutil' , which can be used to enable and disable firewall. Just to eliminate the possibility, could you select unicast instead of multicast and try? I tried the following command: wpeutil disablefirewall, then attempted multicast again, which hung in the same manner. I then tried setting both Ghostcast and the ghost32 client to direct broadcast, and it hung after the initial handshake again.
